Travel Advisory


TRAVEL ADVISORY 10/4/17:  The OCEANFRONT CAMPGROUND at Edisto Beach State Park will be open for business beginning Oct. 12.  Customers who had reservations in this campground from Oct. 12- Dec. 31 that were cancelled, will be given FIRST PRIORITY and information on how to reestablish their reservations.  Beginning Oct. 18, reservations in the oceanfront campground will be open to everyone under the normal reservation process. ***This does not apply to reservations in the LIVE OAK CAMPGROUND. The Live Oak Campground will remain closed.

HUNTING ISLAND STATE PARK:  The lighthouse and North Beach area at Hunting Island will reopen on Thursday, October 12.  Please make sure you follow traffic signs when entering the park, as the route will be slightly different.  Visitors will be able to enjoy the beach, picnic area and historic lighthouse as usual.
The Nature Center is also open and will serve as an information hub for the park.  The South Beach area and the campground remains closed due to damage from Hurricane Irma.


EDISTO BEACH STATE PARK:  The day-use area (with beach access), boat landing and cabin area of Edisto Beach State Park are OPEN!

 All other parks are currently open for business, but please check with those parks in advance to see if trails are open for visitor use.  More information will be posted on our website as conditions change, and parks reopen.   Please stay tuned to this website and our social media channels for more information.
