FISHING

  • Fishing Information: Enjoy fishing from the pier or surf fishing for flounder, king mackerel, whiting, trout, spots, Spanish mackerel, drum and blues.

    Pier fishing - Daily Fee: $4.50 12+; $2.92 SC senior;
    free for children age 11 and younger (annual fee available).

    The Pier also has a gift shop and includes bait/tackle, souvenirs and snacks.

    Fishing pier hours: April - October: 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; November- March: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

THINGS TO DO

  • Picnic Area and Shelters: Seven picnic shelters are available for family or other group gatherings. Each shelter may be reserved for $25-38/day.

    If shelters are not reserved, guests may use on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.

    Note: Admission fee is not included in shelter price. Rates listed do not include applicable tax and nonrefundable transaction fee.

EQUESTRIAN FACILITIES

  • Equestrian Trail: Equestrian beach access is available December, January and February. Permit required.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

  • Education Center: The nature center offers saltwater aquariums, live reptiles and interactive natural history displays to help visitors understand the significance of the park. The center is usually open Tuesdays through Saturdays, depending on the time of year.

    An outdoor wildlife habitat complete with bird feeder, bird houses, butterfly garden, bird baths and nature sculpture is available for viewing even when the nature center is not open.

TRAILS

  • Nature Trails: The "Sculptured Oak Nature Trail" provides a rare opportunity to see one of the last stands of maritime forest on the northern coast of South Carolina.
