PARK ADVISORY

Due to road repairs, the Shelter 6 parking lot will be closed while construction is taking place. There may also be intermittent delays for accessing the top part of the mountain. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Buckhorn Road is closed. If you are hiking or biking Brissy Ridge, you must go back via the trail system as Buckhorn Road is not accessible at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The swimming area and boat rentals are closed for the season.

We're happy to announce that our water bottle filling station donated by Duke Energy Carolinas is installed and operational! Come get a cool drink on us! More info, here on this new park amenity.

HOURS

8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., daily

OFFICE

9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Fri-Mon and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tue-Thu.

ADMISSION

$6 adults; $3.75 SC seniors (age 65 & older); $3.50/ child age 6-15; Free for children 5 and younger. This admission includes access to our designated swimming area when it is open.

PETS

Pets are not allowed in or around cabins, cabin areas or other lodging facilities. Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

History & Interpretation

Tour of the Historic C.C.C. Structures at Paris Mountain

Programs and Guided Tours: Paris Mountain is a Discover Carolina park that offers educational programs for school children in South Carolina.

The park also offers a 4th Saturday program each month, year round, that is open to all park guests. Throughout the summer family hikes and nature detective camps are available. Please view our programs and events page for more information.
Education Center: The Park Center explains the history of the park and how it was made. Interactive exhibits explain the park's importance as a watershed. Make sure you visit the park center to learn more about Paris Mountain.
Burial Sites and Cemeteries: A colonial period burial site is located on the park in the campground area.
Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC): Yes
National Register of Historic Places: Yes
Designation: Paris Mountain State Park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a New Deal Program created by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The CCC was instrumental in the development of many of South Carolina’s state parks.

A number of buildings built by the CCC in the 1930s that are still in use at the park along with the lakes and dams built by the Paris Mountain water company in the late 19th century make this park a historic district on the National Register.
When & How PRT Acquired: Donated in 1935 from City of Greenville along with a tract purchased from Nalley.
