HISTORY AND INTERPRETATION

  • Programs and Guided Tours : Programs and tours are offered on a regular basis. Guided tours can be arranged by request. Please contact the park for more information.

  • Education Center : The visitors center includes exhibits that tell the story of the Musgrove Mill battle and how it fit into the big picture of South Carolina's pivotal role in the outcome of the Revolutionary War.

  • Revolutionary War History : Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is the site of the Aug. 19, 1780 battle of Musgrove's Mill. A small force of patriot militia fought a larger force of loyalist militia and British regulars in a short but pivotal battle. The Patriot's won the fight. It was an important turning point after the American loss at Camden and leading up to the American victory at Kings Mountain.
