Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

Things To Do

  • Fishing Information: Enjoy fishing in Lake Greenwood for bass, crappie, bream, perch, catfish, stripers. A valid South Carolina fishing license is required.

  • Fishing Pier: There is a small fishing pier located near Shelter #1.

  • Tackle Loaner Program: This park participates in the Tackle Loaner Program sponsored by the SC Dept. of Natural Resources. Rods and reels are available for loan at the park office.

  • Boating and Boat Access: Two boat ramps provide private boat acces to Lake Greenwood.

  • Wireless Internet Access: Complimentary wifi is available for park guests at the park office and Drummond Center. The wireless service does not extend to the campground.

  • Playground Equipment: Yes
  • Picnic Shelters: Yes
  • Playground: Our park playgrounds are located in the Shelter #1 area. One playground is ideal for children 2-5 years of age and the other is suited for children 5-12 years of age.

  • Swimming: Swimming is allowed in Lake Greenwood at your own risk. There is no designated swimming are and no lifeguards. Swimming is not allowed around boat ramps, the courtest dock or the fishing pier.

  • Bird Watching: Birdwatching is available at the park with a multitude of birds to enjoy year round.

  • Geocaching: Geocaching is permitted. Several geocaches are located on the park. For more information visit the official geocaching website.

  • Birding: Yes
  • Walking/Nature Trails: The 0.8-mile nature trail begins at the recreation building located in campground #1.

  • Hiking: Yes
