PARK NEWS

Portions of Hamilton Branch State Park that are OPEN include: campsites 1-60, the boat ramp and playground. The General Store (park office & retail) will be open 9am-5pm, daily. All other campsites and picnic shelters will remain closed while cleanup continues.

Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

Camping

  • Camping Information: Camping along the shores of Strom Thurmond Lake is available. Some sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, others up to 35 feet.

    Eight comfort stations which include restroom facilities with hot showers are also located throughout the park.

    Two dump stations are available for RVs.

  • Camping Reservations: To make a camping reservation or view current rates, call toll-free 1-866-345-PARK or visit our reservations page by clicking here. Rates vary by season and demand and are subject to change.

    Camping reservations must be made for a minimum of two nights.

    Reservations requested less than one (1) day in advance of check-in must be made directly through the park.

    For example:
    If today is Friday and you are making a reservation checking in on today, Friday, you must make the reservation by contacting the park directly.
  • Standard Sites with Elec. & Water: 173 sites with water and electricity
  • Designated Tent Sites: 11 sites are available with water only.
  • Dump Station: Yes
  • Tent Camping: Yes
  • RV Camping: Yes
