Travel Advisory

The Hunting Island campground will reopen on Friday, August 4.

EDISTO BEACH - OCEANFRONT CAMPGROUND UPDATE (6/15/17):  We are happy to announce that on Monday, June 19, at 9 a.m., we will begin accepting new reservations for the Edisto Beach State Park oceanfront campground for arrival beginning on November 1, 2017.  When making your reservations, please make sure to double check the campground map, as some sites may have changed.

While it is still our intention to open the beach campground in September, we cannot control the weather and acts of nature, and want to ensure that any new reservations made moving forward are not affected.  Please stay tuned to this website and our social media channels for up-to-date information.

The following areas of Hunting Island opened to the public on Friday, June 2:  South Beach, North Beach, Lighthouse Lighthouse Gift Shop, the Lagoon, most park trails, Park Visitor Center, Nature Center and a portion of the pier.  No fishing or crabbing is allowed from the pier at this time.  Please do not venture into restricted or closed areas for your own safety.
Stay tuned to our website and social media sites for updates to make your trip to Hunting Island enjoyable and safe as we get closer to reopening.  Feel free to call the park at 843-838-2011 for more information.

TABLE ROCK STATE PARK TRAIL UPDATE (4/4/17):  All trails are currently open at the park EXCEPT for the Mill Creek Pass and the Mill Creek Pass Spur Trail.  These trails are closed.  When hiking at Table Rock, please stay on the marked trails. Unsafe conditions still exist in areas away from the trails, due to recent wildfires.  For more information, please contact the park directly at 864-878-9813 or

EDISTO BEACH OPENING! (11/18/16): We are happy to announce that Edisto Beach State Park is OPEN. The beachfront day-use area, Live Oak Campground, cabins, education center and boat ramp have all resumed normal operating hours.
