HUNTING ISLAND UPDATE (4/25/17): Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on recovery efforts at Hunting Island. We expect to open the park on a limited basis on Friday, May 26, the beginning of Memorial Day weekend. Only the north beach day-use area will be open, where the lighthouse, the lighthouse gift shop and picnic areas are located. The nature center located on the south end of the island, will also be open for visitors.
Other locations within the park may remain closed while recovery continues. “Restricted Access“ signs will be posted in these areas for your convenience.
We will provide updates to make your trip to Hunting Island enjoyable and safe as we get closer to Memorial Day weekend. Feel free to call the park at 843-838-2011 for more information.
TABLE ROCK STATE PARK TRAIL UPDATE (4/4/17): All trails are currently open at the park EXCEPT for the Mill Creek Pass and the Mill Creek Pass Spur Trail. These trails are closed. When hiking at Table Rock, please stay on the marked trails. Unsafe conditions still exist in areas away from the trails, due to recent wildfires. EDISTO BEACH OPENING! (11/18/16): We are happy to announce that Edisto Beach State Park is OPEN, after being closed for over a month to recover from Hurricane Matthew. The beachfront day-use area, Live Oak Campground, cabins, education center and boat ramp have all resumed normal operating hours. The oceanfront campground will remain closed while undergoing repairs and is expected to open in September 2017.
Reservations at the following parks have been cancelled and refunded through the following dates:
- Hunting Island State Park – All campsite reservations will be cancelled and refunded through Sunday, May 21, 2017.
Oceanside campsite reservations will be cancelled and refunded through Sunday, December 31, 2017.
- Edisto Beach State Park – All campsite reservations in the oceanfront campground will be cancelled and refunded through Thursday, August 31, 2017.
