Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife. Pets are not allowed in or around lodging facilities.

Unique Features

  • Significant Features: Located on the Ashley River, the park's significant features include, the remaining St. George's bell tower, the tabby Fort Dorchester, remains of shipping wharves that are visible during low tide and a complete archaeological town waiting to be discovered.

  • Wildlife: American alligators, white-tailed deer, fox, raccoons, bald eagles and various hawks can be viewed at the park.
