Primitive Camping for Groups

The primitive group camping areas in the state parks are perfect camping areas for organized groups such as boy or girl scouts, church youth groups or other camping groups.

These areas allow groups to camp together in a more primitive setting, away from our traditional tent and RV campgrounds.  The primitive group camping areas typically include central water, picnic tables and fire rings.  Most of these areas do not include restroom facilities.

Reservations for these primitive camping areas must be made directly through the park and rates vary from park to park.

Some popular parks for group camping include Croft State Park, Dreher Island State ParkGivhans Ferry State Park, Kings Mountain State Park, Poinsett State Park and Sesquicentennial State Park -- and others.
