Campground #2 at Calhoun Falls is temporarily closed for renovations, but Campground #1 is open and ready to welcome you! Come enjoy your stay with us!


Wi-Fi is now available at the park!  Visitors can access it at the park office and day-use beach area.  It is not available in the campgrounds!

Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

Things To Do

  • Fishing Information: Enjoy fishing in Lake Russell for bass, crappie, bream, walleye, stripers and catfish. A valid South Carolina fishing license is required.

    The fishing pier which extends out into Lake Russell is handicap accessible.
  • Tackle Loaner Program: Tackle Loaner: This park participates in the Tackle Loaner Program sponsored by the SC Dept. of Natural Resources. Rods and reels are available for loan at the park office.

  • Fishing: Yes
  • Freshwater Fishing: Yes
  • Boating and Boat Access: A boat ramp provides private boat access to Lake Russell.

    A lighted marina offers 36 rental boat slips. Thirty-two of the 36 slips include water and electricity and access to sewage pump-out, restroom with hot showers and in-boat refueling.

    Slips are rented on a yearly basis.

  • Wireless Internet Access: Wi-Fi is available at the park. Visitors can access Wi-Fi at the park office and day-use beach area. It is not available in the campgrounds.

  • Park Store/Gift Shop: The park store is open year-round and includes firewood, live bait, tackle supplies, limited grocery items, souvenirs and snacks. The facility is handicap accessible.

  • Playground Equipment: Yes
  • Picnic Shelters: Yes
  • Swimming: Lake swimming is available in a designated swimming area at Calhoun Falls State Park. No lifeguards are on duty and you must swim at your own risk.

  • Tennis Courts: There are tennis courts available for visitor use.

  • Birding: Yes
  • Other Facilities and Activities: A basketball court is located in the day-use area for park visitors.

  • Walking/Nature Trails: Calhoun Falls State Park offers a moderately difficult 1.75 mile loop trail, named the Cedar Bluff Nature Trail.

  • Hiking: Yes
