Calling all golfers! Grab your golf clubs and your golfing buddies. Then head on over to the Cheraw State Park Golf Course for an awesome round or two on a course named one of the Best Places to Play by Golf Digest. Given a whopping 4.5 stars by the magazine, the course was touted as a “great value” and a “first-class challenge."
The fantastic thing about playing at Cheraw is you’re not playing in someone’s backyard. No houses line the fairways at Cheraw’s golf course. Instead golfers are treated to the serenity of tall pines and tranquil Lake Juniper which edges the course. It is this preservation management that earned the Cheraw national certification from the Audubon Society. The park preserves and protects the habitat it shares with uncommon critters such as the red-cockaded woodpeckers and fox squirrels – you may spy both as you traverse the course. The golf course boasts a beautiful clubhouse with a snack bar and full-service pro shop. Other amenities found on the park include cabins, perfect for golf groups, and a campground. The professional staff will assist you in planning golf outings and tournaments for your group.
The website for Cheraw provides a wealth of information on the course. You can even listen as golf pro Brick Hyduke offers tips on how you should play each hole. You can download these videos to your ipod and carry them with you to help with your game. Visit the site to learn more about the course, plan your golf outing and book your tee time.
We look forward to you playing a round with us! We think you’ll agree with Golf Digest and rate it one of the best places you’ve played.
